We were hoping that Daniel would be able to return to the Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission. But now we know for sure that he will finish his service in the Washington Kennewick Mission.
Today we received a letter signed by President Monson:
Dear Elder Willoughby,
This letter is to confirm that your mission assignment has been changed from the Mongolia Ulaanbatar Mission to the Washington Kennewick Mission.
We appreciate your willingness to accept this assignment and are confident that you will be able to successfully fulfill this new calling.
I am glad the Church was able to reassign Daniel so quickly and put him to work. He is happy to serve in Washington. And he will be able to learn English again for when he comes home.
If you want to communicate with Daniel, write in the comments or use one of these addresses.

I’m sorry that Elder Daniel won’t be able to go back to Mongolia. He seemed to really love it there and to be doing good work. On the other hand, the Washington Kennewick Mission is blessed to have him serving here! If he ever gets to serve in Kennewick itself, he might hit my ward, and I’ll be sure to say hello from a reader of his dad’s blog!

If Daniel ends up in your ward I suggest you say something to him like:
“How are Aurora and Bryson doing?”
“It was nice to see Paul and Jake graduate together.”
Or something else you read on the blog. He will wonder how you know.

Dang…I enjoyed following all the posts on mongolia, and your website has been really informative about Mongolian life and culture.
Wishing you all the best with your new assignment :)

Yes, I will miss all the traffic but Daniel has settled in well in his new mission, recently being called as a District Leader.
